Mounted Flies

Custom tied classic wet flies mounted as art pieces preserve the colorful patterns that occupied the fly boxes of fishermen in the earliest days of fly fishing in America and around the world. Each serial numbered art piece is framed and double matted. Each fly pattern chosen from the 1800’s until the mid 1960’s is tied with the traditional materials customarily found on the original. The framed art piece lists the name for each of the flies. Each fly is tied with the finest materials acquired from England, France and the United States in the tradition of the great classic wet fly era. Your twelve mounted colorful wet fly classics will be selections from the hundreds of beautiful patterns that were used by fly fishermen from the 1800's to the mid 1960's.

Or you may choose a serial numbered framed, double-matted art piece that exhibits both the original classics and patterns that I designed and fished from 1948-1967. The patterns selected are the most effective patterns of the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of wet fly patterns I tested in the trout waters of Pennsylvania, the Adirondacks, Yellowstone, the North Cascades and Alaska. Mounted art pieces are available of the old custom classics, my original most effective designs, or six of the old classics and six of my original designs.

The colorful 8” x 10” framed mounts preserve a historic era of wet fly fishing. Each serial numbered presentation would be a nostalgic reminder of the past as well as a colorful and interesting conversation piece for your home or office.
